Chris Cox Demo Rider
Want to Ride in a Chris Cox Clinic at Equifest? Here’s what we’re looking for:
1.
Ground Work In Preparation For Riding‐ Two horses needed for this demonstration. The perfect horse is one that is
pushy on the ground, walks over the rider/owner, and has no respect. A lot of rescue horses have a lack of ground control. Be
prepared to start and at the arena 15 minutes prior to start time, horse only needs to have halter on.
2.
Riding with your Hands, Feet & Seat‐ Two or Three intermediate riders for this demo (no beginners). All disciplines
(English or Western) and gaited riders welcome. This is perfect for riders that are struggling with their seat/balance and riding
correctly. Chris will work with them to help teach rhythm, timing and balance. Be tacked up and ready to ride 15 minutes
prior to start. (No green broke horses in this demo and no bucking issues for this demo please). Must be able to walk, trot and
canter on a loose rein.
3.
Regaining Confidence in the Saddle‐ Two riders for this demo. This demo is perfect for the rider that has had a
traumatic or terrifying experience with a horse and is trying to build their confidence in riding again and are afraid to
lope/canter. Chris works with each rider in the demo on discovering their inner confidence in their horsemanship through the
correct seat position. We ask that the rider be able to walk, trot and/or willing to lope. Send Video, and please show the rider
on horse and describe where they are lacking confidence. Video does not need to have lope. (60’ Round pen will be used in
demo)
4.
